1.01 Duties of the President

1.01.01 The President shall:

(a) be a voting member of Council and is required to attend all Council meetings,

(b) oversee the running of all Association affairs, ensuring that all members of the Council and Extended Council are properly supported in their duties and responsibilities,

(c) act as a resource for the Speaker, Senator, Treasurer, Representative(s) to the AMS, Academic Affairs Commissioner, Equity Affairs Commissioner, Equity Outreach Coordinator, Head Teach, and the Council Clerk(s)

(d) represent the Association on social and ceremonial occasions,

(e) represent the Association on, be a voting member on, and advocate on students' behalf to:

i) AMS Assembly

ii) AMS President's Caucus

iii) ASUS President's Caucus

(f) hold monthly meeting with the Undergraduate Dean of Education to advocate on students' behalf and to progress long term plans of the Association and Faculty of Education,

(g) approve Orientation Week events and handbook,

(h) write a report at the end of the first semester and before leaving office that outlines, in detail, the work completed to date and long term goals of the Association. This report shall be written in conjunction with the Vice President (Internal) and Vice President (External) and shall be made available on the Association website and in Con-Ed Office.

(i) Act as a mentor and work with their First Year Intern.

(j) Participate in hiring the Orientation Executive; if unavailable then the Vice President (Internal) or Vice President (External) may take their place.

1.02 Duties of the Vice President (Internal)

1.02.01 The Vice President (Internal) shall:

(a) be a voting member of Council and is required to attend all Council meetings,

(b) act as meeting chair in the absence of the Executive Administrator,

(c) act as a resource for the First Year Representatives, Second Year Representatives, Third Year Representatives, Fourth Year Representatives, Alumni Representative(s), Marketing and Design Director, Merchandise Coordinator, IT Administrator, Photography Coordinators, Athletics Coordinators, and Video Coordinators

(d) represent the Association on, be a voting member on, and advocate on students' behalf to:

i) ASUS Assembly

ii) Arts and Science Faculty Board

(e) coordinate Con-Ed Camp,

(f) determine the recipient of the Inter-Year Challenge, the Captain CESA and the CESA Achievement Awards. In conjunction with the President and Vice President (External), notes will be taken of those who actively participate and contribute to Con-Ed life throughout the year. Winners of the CESA Achievement Award will be recorded in the Vice President (Internal)’s transition manual to prevent individuals winning in consecutive years.

(g) Be responsible for compiling the information for the weekly updates and  disseminating that information to the Year Reps at least 48 hours prior to the release of the updates every Monday,

(h) act as a mentor and work with their First Year Intern.

 

1.03 Duties of the Vice President (External)

1.03.01 The Vice President (External) shall:

(a) be a voting member of Council and is required to attend all Council meetings,

(b) act as a resource for the, CESA Clubs Director, Conference Chair, and Events Director, including the Community Affairs Coordinators, Social Affairs Coordinators, and Workshop Coordinators, and the Outreach Coordinators

(c) represent the Association on, be a voting member on, and advocate on students' behalf to:

i) Education Faculty Board

ii) Teacher Education Liaison Committee

iii) Teacher Education Advisory Committee

(d) sit on the Bursary Committee,

(e) act as a mentor and work with their First Year Intern.

(f) act as a resource for financial advancement and maintain an updated sponsorship package
