Morgan Mccrimmon

Background:

Hi! My name is Morgan McCrimmon, and I am part of the Con-Ed Class of 2017. I am a Primary/Junior teacher and during my undergrad at Queen's I majored in English Literature.

What they did with their degree:

After graduating from my B.Ed in 2018, I moved to Windsor, England to teach grade 3. The prospect of moving overseas and being a first-time teacher was terrifying to me, but I am so glad I took the risk. Teaching in England was difficult but offered me a lot of room to learn and grow as an educator. Living in Windsor was surreal (I was even spoiled enough to see the Queen once!) and travelling Europe during the frequent school breaks was a massive perk. I have since returned to Toronto and now work as an occasional teacher in the TDSB.

Piece of Advice:

A piece of advice I would give to current students is that, generally speaking, your experience is what you make of it. Being in Con-Ed and being a teacher has offered me unique challenges, disappointments, and amazing surprises; I encourage you to rise up to meet those opportunities, take all that you can from them, and let it help propel you forward.
