Catherine Franey
Nickname(s): Franny (apparently Catherine was a very popular girl’s name the year I was born) Hometown: Toronto Favourite First Year Course: It’s a tie: Math 121 and Chem 112 Favourite thing about Teach Exec: They’re all so excited and are working so hard to make your frosh week the best it can be! Favourite thing about Con-Ed: ALL THE LOVE! Everyone is so friendly and genuinely cares about everyone else. It’s amazing! You’re all going to be members of not only the best faculty EVER but also a member of a fantastic family! On another note, no other faculty is better looking or can shake their booty finer than we can. I’m so excited to meet you all! Con-Ed frosh week is literally going to be one of the greatest times of your life…SO START GETTING PUMPED! Personal spotlight: I have a blue freckle…true story. Words of wisdom for the Frosh of 2014: It’s alright to be nervous (I sure was) but don’t worry too much. I know you’ve probably heard this a lot but it’s true, everyone is in the exact same position as you are. Everyone in Con-Ed is unashamedly friendly and we all can’t wait to meet you! Intramurals are a great way to meet more people and they ridiculously fun! I definitely recommend inner tube water polo, it’s only the greatest sport known to humankind! Lastly, don’t forget your rain boots, they’ll be handy. |

Emmaline Houston
Your nickname(s): Emm, Emms, Emmie, Emmaline-Anne & Houston Hometown: Dundas (the town, not the street in Toronto), Ontario Favourite First Year Course: My favourite course was probably Devs100. I also really enjoyed my history courses this year, Profs can definitely make or break a course. Favourite thing about Con-Ed: It’s actually the best faculty ! Since we’re such a small faculty, you’re able to get to know everyone so well and do things other faculties can’t. We also get to make B.Ed jokes, which are hilarious. So much Con-Ed Love <3 Favourite thing about Teach Exec: They’re KL^SSy, fun and dedicated to making your Frosh week the best ever ! Don’t be nervous about approaching them about anything ! Personal spotlight: I love cats, especially lolcats, if you don’t know what they are, Google them immediately. You’ll definitely get on my good side by sending me one. I was also on the rowing team in my first year. It was so amazing that it easily made up for the early mornings. I’m excited for Frosh Week again ! Words of wisdom for the Frosh of 2014: Get involved and totally take advantage of Queen’s! Actually do your readings before the day of the exam, it’ll help. Cheer off’s are so much fun, so cheer your hearts out and shake your booties (: If you get fun rain-boots, it’ll actually make you want to go to class in the rain (sometimes…) |

Jillian Lemmen
Nickname(s): Jill, Jay, Lemmen, Jilly Bean, Jill Bill Hometown: Manotick. It’s really little, so, Ottawa Favourite First Year Course: Prof 110. Or GPHY 102. Favourite thing about Con-Ed: That Con Ed is a total family. As a small faculty, you get to know a lot of people from classes, smokers, camp(!) and the spirit in Con Ed is absolutely fantastic. Plus, it gives a great excuse to shake your booty! Favourite thing about Teach Exec: That they are a completely incredibly awesome group of KL^SSy people working to make your frosh week as fantastic as possible. Words of wisdom for the Frosh of 2014: Wear rubber boots when it rains, you’re warm, dry, and can play in puddles. And go to class. It really helps. Personal spotlight: I’m majoring in Bio with a second teachable in Geography. I’m involved in Queen’s Dance Club and Team, and ABSOLUTLEY LOVE Lucky Charms. They’re delicious. Straight up. |

Shayne Sharkey
Nicknames: Bruce, Jaws, Moby Dick, The Great White Shayne Hometown: Teachey, North Carolina Favourite first year course: Dessert Favourite thing about teach exec: Wow. What a question. Teach Exec is the wind beneath my wings. I mean, what’s NOT to love about Teach Exec? They’re beautiful, they smell nice and their smiles can light up the entire eastern seaboard. These four ladies are the most superbly, amazingly, ridiculously, incredibly, unmistakably, fantastically, any-superlative-you-can-think-of-ly phenomenal people. Ever. They are my heroes. Also, if you look at them the wrong way they will use their Jedi Mind Powers on you. Don’t try it. Personal Spotlight: Once, I fought a bear. It looked at Teach Exec the wrong way. (I won) Let’s see. About me… I can run a mile in under two kilometers, bench press a piano, and fit three billiard balls in my mouth. Seriously, though (not that I wasn’t being serious before). I knew from very early on in life that I had a purpose. I had a path I needed to follow, and fulfilling that has been a dream come true. Coming to Queen’s and meeting KL^SS has been the end of a lifelong mission. While I didn’t always know where I would end up, completing the journey has been an incredible experience. KL^SS has made my life complete. Without them, I would be lost. And so I am dedicating this, my personal spotlight, to them <3 Favourite thing about Con-Ed: My favourite thing about Con-Ed is that you get amazing opportunities. Like writing bios (as in biographies, not the Binary Input Output System). These opportunities are second to none. The best part, though, is that even if (for some crazy reason) you don’t take that opportunity, there are people to cover your back. Really, really, really, ridiculously good looking people. Oh, and in Con-Ed, peanut butter only comes in smooth. Just like me. (See that? Right there? Pretty smooth, huh?) |
