Kelsey Jacobson
Nickname(s): Kels, Gorilla (Thank-you, grade six) Favourite First Year Course: Dram 100, Clst 101 – Doroftei is a hilarious professor! Hometown: Calgary, AB Favourite thing about Teach Exec: Their color scheme. Dark orchid is my favourite color. I also love their dedication, enthusiasm, organization and overall amazing-ness! They are wonderful! Favourite thing about Con-Ed: The love! Everyone is so tight. And the booty shaking, it’s a natural talent of mine. Personal spotlight: Drama/English/Psych concentrator in I/S. I love theatre, horseback riding, Zefron, Sue from Glee, Alan Rickman, and competitive quidditch. I have an unnatural fear of balloons. Also, a warning to those from out of province: they sell milk in bags here. Yes, bags. I know, I don’t get it either. Words of wisdom for the Frosh of 2014: Get involved – It is absolutely the best thing you can do! Be open to change – your marks will drop, you will feel overwhelmed at times but that’s okay, you still belong here! Don’t feel like you have to study in Club Stauf exclusively – go find other rooms/hallways/buildings where it will be quieter and less stressful. Use flex dollars wisely. Every lecture you skip cost you $21. Remember that. Study somewhere other than your room! Do your readings. Just do them. It will make life better. Email and visit your profs and TAs. They really do want to talk to you! Take time to relax and have fun! |

Favourite thing about Teach Exec: They are probably 4 of the nicest and smartest ladies that Con-Ed has to offer Favourite thing about Con-Ed: How much do I love Con-Ed? SOOOOO much! Everyone is just so nice, and I’m pretty sure it’s the only faculty where you walk by a group of upper-years and they actually know who you are! Personal Spotlight: I’m from a small town and grew up on dairy farm. I have a miniature schnauzer named Mr. Tibbs. I own more than 10 pieces of clothing relating to Queen’s. I’m in I/S and would love to teach Math and Music. I’m obsessed with watching How I Met Your Mother and Friends and quote them like it’s my job. I love going camping in the summertime. My favourite thing to do at Queen’s is walk around campus shouting Con-Ed’s many wonderful cheers. Words of Wisdom for Frosh 2014: Go to every Con-Ed event possible! Especially Buddy Picnic, Formal, and Con-Ed Camp… just do it all! School is a lot more fun when you recognize ConEddies everywhere on campus!! Oh, and try not to skip out on Frosh Week events. I know the schedule is crazy busy, but it will be 4 of the best days of your lives guaranteed! One last thing: go to football games! Queen’s school spirit is absolutely amazing and it’s a fantastic feeling to be a part of that!!! |
