Danielle Allan
Nickname(s): I don’t really have a nickname Hometown: Peterborough, ON. Favourite First Year Course: PSYC 100 Favourite thing about Con-Ed: All of the Con-Ed love! Everyone is super friendly and I have made great friends. Favourite thing about Teach Exec: All of the hard work that they put into making Frosh Week the most wonderful week of your lives! Words of wisdom for the Frosh of 2014: Everyone is in the same boat as you are, so just get out there, have fun, and make the best of it. Live in the moment and take it all in. First year is the best time of your life and you don’t want to miss out on a minute of it! Personal spotlight: I was never one of those people who absolutely always knew where they wanted to go to school, in fact I didn’t even finalize my decision to come to Queen’s until the deadline to accept. But I am so incredibly happy that I am here at Queen’s in the Con-Ed. program! I love west campus, laughing with friends, summer, dance parties, ice cream, synchronized swimming and Queen’s con ed. I am super excited to be a Teach for Frosh Week 2010. Frosh week is so much fun and I can’t wait to make your Frosh Week as much fun as mine was! |

Nickname(s): Skyv, Skyvers Hometown: Ballantrae, Ontario Favourite First Year Course: Tie Between Psych 100 and Health 102 Favourite thing about Teach Exec: They are just the most awesome, happy and wonderful people! They are working SO hard to make Frosh Week ‘10 the BEST week of your lives. Oh and they are really good at shaking their booty! Favourite thing about Con-Ed: How much do we love Con-ed? SOOOO MUCH! I love how it is one big happy family and there is always so much Con-ed love. Being in a small faculty means everyone becomes really close and supports each other. It’s such an amazingly talented and good-looking group of people and once you get here you’ll surly agree its best in B.Ed! Personal spotlight: I absolutely love Queen’s and Con-ed! When I’m not shaking my booty, I also love sports, laughing, meeting new people, traveling, distance running/swimming, eating granola, watching How I Met Your Mother/One Tree Hill/Gossip Girl, being outside and taking jumping pictures. Words of wisdom for the Frosh of 2014: You are only a frosh once, so enjoy every minute of it because it goes by way too fast. Never let an opportunity pass you by. Don’t let the little things get you down. Don’t be afraid to ask for help and try not to procrastinate too much. Get involved and try something new. Bring rainboots. Don’t freak out when you get your first midterm, paper, lab back and your marks aren’t quite what you were expecting. Take way too many pictures. Cheer loudly. Get involved in as many Con-ed events as possible. Remember that life is what happens when you are busy making other plans. Con-ed Love <3 |

Nickname: Meg, Meggo, Megster, Luke…hehe long story Hometown: Arnprior, Ontario (small town outside of Ottawa) Favourite First Year Course: I have decided that I can’t decide between PSYC 100, PROF 110, GPHY 101 (Human Geography) – they’re all great! Favourite thing about Teach Exec: Well, their KL^SS of course! They’re such a fun and hardworking group who are going to do everything they can to get you the best experience possible! Oh, and Katie’s basketball skills. Favourite thing about Con-Ed: The inclusive and loving environment. I know you might be skeptical about all this “Con-Ed Love”, I know I was. As a frosh getting my booklet, I thought, how can a faculty have so much love? But we do. It’s truly a great and fun group. You always know you are going to be welcomed whole heartedly when you do anything with Con-Ed! Personal Spotlight: I like being crazy and energetic and I love to act, sing and jam on my guitar. I want to be a Primary/Junior teacher, and I’m very much a small-town girl. I get addicted to TV shows WAY too much. Mangoes and pomegranates are tied for world’s best fruit and Quidditch is the greatest sport ever invented. Words of Wisdom for the Frosh of 2014: Jump in, try something new! Sign up for every Con-Ed event that you can! Don’t be discouraged if you don’t get the same marks you did in high school. Keep on trying and work on personally improving, not comparing yourself to others. |
