Academic Services

Queen’s has many services available to help you succeed academically. Many of these services will be shown/ introduced to you during Frosh Week.

Peer Academic Support Service:

  • PASS is a student run academic service which offers confidential academic counselling for first year Arts and Science students
  • Advisors can help answer questions about: adding/dropping courses, grades, changing programs, exams and so much more
  • No appointment is necessary, simply drop by the Faculty of Arts and Science office at F200 in Mac-Correy (we will be stopping there on a tour so you’ll know where it is)
  • You can also email advisors at passhelp@queensu.ca

The Writing Centre:

  • The Writing Centre is located in Stauffer Library, and offers a comprehensive program of tutorials, workshops, and credit courses. They welcome students from all subject areas and levels.
  • You can use this service to discuss your current writing assignments during free, one-on-one tutorials with a professional tutor

Queen’s Learning Commons:

  • The Queen’s Learning Commons is a collaborative learning space located in Stauffer Library
  • Its staff assists students through individual consultation, workshops, peer mentoring, and collaboration.

MindFind Tutoring:

  • Looking for a tutor? The Arts and Science Undergraduate Society offers MindFind, a subsidized, affordable tutoring service
  • This service brings students in need of extra help with peer who can provide this assistance
