Con-Ed Degree Requirements

After reviewing your degree requirements, if you have any questions contact the Concurrent Education Assistant Vicky Andrews who will be able to guide you.

You can contact Vicky by email at concurrent.education@queensu.ca or by phone at 613-533-6205.

Concurrent Education students must meet their degree requirements and final year Education entry requirements as outlined in the Education calendar for the year they start the program for the division levels they wish to pursue (Primary-Junior or Intermediate-Senior).  This information is outlined in the Programs of Study section in the Education Calendar. It is highly recommended that you take to the time to review these requirements in the Education Calendar before you attend Queen’s in the fall and to help you select Year 1 Arts and Science courses.  As you have enrolled in the Concurrent Education program in 2010-11, review the 2010-11 Faculty of Education Calendar at the following link: http://www.queensu.ca/calendars/education/index.html

Primary-Junior (PJ) Division Levels (JK to Grade 6)

Queen’s Concurrent Primary-Junior Final Year Education Recommendations: http://www.queensu.ca/calendars/education/pg124.html

Entrance into final year is NOT contingent upon completion of each of the recommended courses.

If you are interested in teaching the IS division levels, please review the following information to guide your Arts and Science course selection:

Concurrent Intermediate-Senior Degree Requirements: http://www.queensu.ca/calendars/education/Concurrent_Intermediate_Senior_Degree_Requirements.html

Concurrent Intermediate-Senior Final Year Entry Requirements: http://www.queensu.ca/calendars/education/pg126.html

Teaching Subject Requirements for Queen’s Concurrent Intermediate-Senior: http://www.queensu.ca/calendars/education/pg128.html

Please review the Teaching Subject Requirements (for all Concurrent Teacher Candidates) as well as the Teaching Subject Requirements for Queen’s Concurrent Intermediate-Senior to determine the Arts and Science course preparation requirements for each of the teaching subjects you wish to pursue.

Refer to the 2010-11 Faculty of Arts and Science Calendar to review course descriptions and requirements for Arts and Science courses of interest to you.
